“If You Could Change Just One Thing…."

Hypothetical questions can be fun and frustrating all at the same time. Instead of making the title question hypothetical what if it was a reality and you decided that the “one thing you could change about yourself” was a real possibility? What would you change? Would you become healthier, kinder, more sympathetic, more organized, more carefree, more involved, more loving?

Interestingly enough, when we see people around us change we often think “I wish I could do that” when we really should be saying, “I can do that!”

Opportunities in our life pass us by every day and deciding to create a fulfilling life is a choice.   At the present time, my one thing to change will be to enjoy the simple pleasures of life more.

So what about you, if you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be, how would you do it and do you believe you will actually work towards changing it?

  1. Lately, I have been trying to focus on the simple things in life...taking a deep breath and taking in all thats around me. Life is an incredible journey and I want to take in as much as possible, especially when it comes to family. My husband, the boys and our extended family too! They are all the reason behind living...

  4. If I could change one thing it would be to be healthier, so that I'm able to enjoy all the things around me. It's tough work but I've been making small changes! You're right, an "I can do it" attitude is important because we're all capable of doing anything.

  5. I'm amazed at how much punch you can pack into such a short post:)! I'm taking notes from your blog to improve on my posts in the future:)! I would say I would want to learn to balance my role as mommy and wife better. My husband has been getting the short end of the stick and that isn't fair...but, I'm so beat most days. Balance better! That is my goal!

  6. I think I would work on changing my level of contentedness...being happy with what I have now, not always wishing for something more, or looking forward to the next big vacation or moment. I'd enjoy the grind a little bit more. In fact, I think I am going to change this about me. I want to feel blessed every day, not just on the days that I choose to feel blessed.

Great food for thought, TV! Love you for these posts.

  7. I have a lot of things I would like to work on. My greatest challenge has always been to be more patient. I have always been a go, go, go girl. I made sure I added an extra "go" so you did not think I was a go go girl! Ha! :) I little laugh! I also would like to be healthier. I used to be so athletic and eat realy well, but chronic pain has been pretty tough on me the past few years. This is another great post my friend! have a super day!

  8. I would find a way to stop being so type-A and anxious.

I take this kind of change one day at a time.

  9. If I could change one thing about me, it would be to be more intentional (disciplined) about getting things done. I'm sometimes so behind with the "daily grind" that I feel I'll never catch up let alone get ahead of the game. I look around and say, "Gee, I need to do this or that today," and before I know it, the day is gone and whatever the task is still undone--not a very good feeling. Several days of this strings into several weeks and months. Then you have a real mess on your hands (both literally and figuratively)!

  10. Hey TV, I wish I could be a bit less stressed. I have a way of taking everything to heart. Everything! So I get hurt a lot. That then stresses me. I want to find some way of letting the stuff that bothers me so much roll off my back. Have a great night!

  11. I think I am doing it right now. I used to read my friend's blogs and wish, "I could do that." Then I realized, "I CAN do that!" I have never been happier than when I write each evening on my little blog. It is a stress reliever, it forces me to find the good in each day and has made me a more positive person. I am so glad I quit "wishing" and started "doing." Great post TV!

  12. I honestly don't think I would change one thing...ok, maybe I would add a few more hours to the day.
This post is thought provoking, makes a person contemplate life and all it offers.

  14. Great post!!! Way to go with applying the question. One thing I determined to change for the year 2010 is to pace myself. I have a tendency of taking on too many projects at once. I wrote a post answering your previous questions here http://jinnialow.com/is-it-possible-to-change/

    Have a great night, TV!

  15. I wish I could change my impatience. I get irritated so easily at certain things. I do try to take a deep breath and stay calm...if only that always worked :)
