Wanna Save Some $$$?

Who doesn’t like saving money? I know I do!

In preparation of the upcoming holiday season, some people like to professionally clean their carpets and furniture. This service can be expensive.

My recommendation: get them cleaned within the next few weeks. Reason: Companies are generally slow during the month of October so they are more willing to negotiate prior to their busy months, November and December.

So if your carpets are looking a little sad, do them and your wallet a favor and clean them today. I did and saved over $200

What tips do you have on saving money in preparation of the holidays?

  1. wow, great tip! Thanks! Hmmm, I guess I save money by doing my Christmas shopping early and a lot online. I find the good sales, deals and coupons, wait and then get 'em! I was able to get a toy for my youngest son that was 24.99, and with my coupon and the weekend sale they were running, I was able to get it for 2.49!!! Yep, pretty cool huh??!

  2. We do a lot of online shopping too and I've been doing a lot of web searches for promo codes and free freight codes and have gotten all my shipments with free freight or a discount just by doing a tiny bit of research online! Our carpets need to be cleaned sooooo bad....thanks for the tip:)

  3. Hey TV, you make me laugh! I have to say that your comment on Kirsten's blog has me laughing a lot. "Hey that's Kneedeep" is so cute! It really is amazing how small the blogworld/world is. About saving money, this is a great idea. Have a good night TV!

  4. I love to save money. Even so, I don't have any master plan going into the holiday season. My cheapness always serves me well and keeps spending in check!

  7. Ooo, I've been meaning to do this. I also meant to get my fireplace cleaned all summer long but neglected to make the appointment. My only holiday tip is to plan/shop ahead.

We're planning on saving money by flying to visit family in Chicago 2 weekends before Christmas. Tickets for the 3 of us are literally half the price. My other reason for that is that I want to be in MY home for Christmas. I'm sure my parents would prefer we come over the Christmas weekend but now that Lily's 3 and aware of Santa, I want to start our own traditions at home...like baking cookies and hanging stockings and decorating and waking up early on Christmas morning (in my own bed!).

  8. Great advice! We do a lot of our holiday shopping early for this same reason. I look for internet deals and it gives me time to allow for shipping and price comparisons.

Hahaha! I just read what Kirsten wrote up there! Funny to be called Knee Deep - guess it kinda has a ring to it! :)
