Taking Time To Celebrate

Today is our wedding anniversary. It was a great day made memorable by amazing people.

More than anything, I believe it is important to take time to celebrate milestones, anniversaries, birthdays and successes. Life happens quite quickly and without special occasions to remind us what life is all about, it’s easy to forget.

Allowing our minds to forget what’s really important and special is probably one of the soul’s biggest nemesis.

In the midst of the holiday season and all things lovely, how do you celebrate the milestones in your life? How do you make those moments really count?

PS: Happy Anniversary Mr. V

  1. Happy Anniversary to you both :)

Yes, it is SO important to take time before the moment passes you by. Beautifully said. We try and make sure we make moments like those as memorable as possible, but we know its not about the gifts we receive on those special days, its about who we spend them with...and its always with the ones we love!

Hope you have a great Anniversary :)

  2. Happy Anniversary! It's really important to take time to live in the moment, for what else do we really have? Even though we're having a quiet Christmas, we're incorporating our own childhood traditions this year with Georgia, and trying to take pictures of it all!

  3. Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs. V!

We try to make the holidays special for our little girl, sadly we don't do much for our own old people milestones.

  4. Happy Anniversary, TV & hubs. Our celebrations usually include lots of family and food since we all live nearby. I like to keep some of the celebrations, like our wedding anniversary, smaller and more personal...maybe a dinner for two or just a quiet meal at home with a special dessert.

  6. Happy anniversary! We celebrated 10 years since our first date this past October. Crazy how time flies.

PS Lily just came over and saw KLV and asked "is that me when I was a baby? And hey that's like my moon book!!"

  7. Happy Anniversary. I really liked this statement in your post: "Allowing our minds to forget what’s really important and special is probably one of the soul’s biggest nemesis."

It is too easy to overlook or forget what is really important. Special days remind us to refocus. Good thoughts and post.

And thanks for the Follow on Family Fountain. I hope you'll find some articles that are uplifting for family. I just started a 3-part series on "Engaged."

  9. Happy Anniversary! My birthday sometimes falls on Thanksgiving, so my day seems to get overshadowed. My parents werent really big into celebrating birthdays or holidays, and that's how I have been. Now I try to make a big effort for my little ones because I want them to feel special, and most importantly, grateful to be here another year! My birthday was yesterday the 'golden birthday' and it was pretty low key which secretly made me feel down. but i was grateful my husband was here and not elsewhere. anywho, hope you had a great time!

  10. Happy wedding anniversary! Wedding anniversaries are super special to me because marriages are special to me. I love seeing them thrive and seeing them celebrated because they should be!! I try to make sure that no matter what money or busy circumstances we face that my hubby and I celebrate our anniversary somehow each year by doing something for just the two of us. I never regret it! I agree, take time for special things!

  14. Happy Anniversary, TV! Ours is in a week, and your question is very timely. We have nothing planned to celebrate our anniversary! It often gets lost in the Xmas rush. This year, maybe we'll break the mold and do something that is just for us!
