What’s Your Favorite Role?

We all play various roles in our life and our roles shift based on the hour, the need or the mood.

Like many of you I have lots of roles, some of them I’m much better at than others. Roles I would like to improve: Being a Mom, Friend, Daughter and Writer.

My favorite role is hard to identify, mainly because there are times things aren’t in sync and it’s hard to do anything well.

There are days when being a good friend makes me feel better than being a mom. Being a good daughter and writer are always works in progress.
There are so many times when my munchkin makes my heart smile and I know that being a Mom is my favorite role by far.

What’s your favorite role and why?

  1. I think my favorite role of all - is being a wife. I like being married to my egyptian, and I wish I had more time to do that. Unfortunately, it is the last role I get to play sometimes and only for a few hours a day.

  2. 1) Mommy. I love to play/teach/color/cook/giggle/read with Lily.
    2) Chef. I love love love to cook. No baking, though.
    3) Auditor-basher. Nothing makes me happier at work than thwarting an overly curious and nosey auditor who has minimal accounting knowledge.

    Happy Monday!

  3. what a good question...hmmm, I think its a tie between a mother, wife and daughter! They are all a balancing act each and every day and they ALL have perks! Before I lost my grandma 6 months ago, I sure enjoyed being a granddaughter too.

  4. My favorite position is that of a child/daughter of God. All roles that I have come from that one position, and is my purpose behind every role that He has given me.

I love your thought provoking questions. :)

  5. I think every role we play has importance. I think the most important role is being a mother. It is our influence that will shape our innocent children's lives. What pressure! Because of the pressure, the role of mother is not always my favorite. But I tend to think my mood determines my favorite role and that changes by the minute!

  6. I think it's really hard to choose which role is my favorite - they all have their challenges and benefits! But if I had to choose, I would say the role of mother is the most rewarding. Ever since I was small, I knew I wanted children, and I wanted at least one girl. When Georgia was born, it was like my dreams were fulfilled. Every day she makes my role of mother better and more fulfilling.

  7. Gosh. This is making me feel like I'm in a bad place. I would say mom, but last night my husband said I was being "short" with our daughter. It's not always easy, but it is still my favorite, even if I am sometimes irritable about it.

  8. I'm with Big Fat Mama - she took my answer. I think my faith and my role in serving God is my favorite. It makes me feel loved and at peace, and happiness in every other role stems from my walk in my faith. Aside from that, I think I struggle with playing the ME role, the me that is not mommy, or wifey, or co-worker. The me that is unstripped and carefree...sometimes I would just like to play that role...without the lables :) Great food for thought, TV!

  9. Each one depends on the other I think - if you are unbalanced in one it is hard to not feel guilty with others.

  10. Tough question. Like others I think I feel more at peace and balanced when I'm enjoying my role as a child of God first and foremost. However, the role that's probably the most "fun" for me is the role of wife to the hubs.

  11. I love being a mommy! There are so many roles I play. My husnand travels a good portion of the month, so I am mommy, daddy, friend, and daughter. My favorite role is being a mom! It is truly my greatest blessing! Have a great week TV!

  12. My fave role would have to be mom, no wife, no mom...ugh! I can't decide between these two. My favorite also depends greatly on my mood. Sometimes I feel like I'm the worst mom ever, than I havea good day, and I'm back in business.

  13. I almost feel guilty picking one, but I would have to say mother. I'm responsible for the futures of these children. My other roles don't have as much bearing on the future. Was that a decent answer? :)
