Dreams, Who Are They 4 Anyway?

I’ve never been big dreamer; I’m a self proclaimed realist.

I’ve always thought of dreamers as the kind of people who never really attain their goals they just talk about them.

This all changed when I decided to stay at home with my daughter, one year ago. I realized if I don’t create my own dreams and go for them – no one is going to do it for me.

Yes, this concept is insanely simple. Dreams are necessary because if we stop dreaming we close the doors of potential within our souls.

What are your dreams and how are you reaching them?

  1. Agreed I also realized that from being a stay at home mom. There were so many things I wanted to accomplish but if I did not get up and do them then they were not going to happen, most recent case is I started an etsy shop that I have been wanting to do for so long! It is good to dream but also good to follow through!

  2. I think it's healthy for a person to dream. Where the danger lies is when they keep their dreams in their head and never put feet to them. Not only will they have missed opportunities to pursue those dreams, but also they will miss the moments that pass by while they're busy dreaming.

  3. pursuing photography was a dream of mine for a long time that now has been put in motion and has really boosted my confidence and it is such a treat to see something come to pass! My only other dreams are to vacation in other countries...cost is the factor now but, I am determined to someday get me and my hubby to those amazing destinations! I love seeing new places, eating different foods and learning about cultures and history! ;0.

  4. very cool post :) I have always enjoyed dreaming, thinking of goals to attain. Especially after having children and turning 30, I decided to do those things I've always wanted to do, but had never done!

Have a great day and LOVE the pic of you two, cute!!

  5. I dream a lot about stuff I want to do to the house. This evening I decided I want to do karaoke before I die. It's mostly little things, but I like to think these things through to entertain myself.

I'm glad you're dreaming now. It's good for the soul. Reality gets icky sometimes.

  6. You are right about having to make our dreams happen. I have many dreams, but most importantly I dream of being a good role model for my daughter. I got my behind to the gym the past couple of days and took a Zumba class that really worked my butt off. I wish! I am working on it though because I dream of being much healthier, which is great for my daughter to see me working on it. we can talk all we want to our children about wanting them to eat right and keep moving, but letting them see us actually doing these things makes the difference. So, we should start by dreaming and then go for it! have a great night!

  7. I agree that it's important to dream... even if the dream is something that seems unattainable. Dreaming keeps me moving forward and gives me something to look forward to on days that I need a little boost. Dreaming is all about possibilities and hoping that where we're at isn't where we will stay. I'm glad you're dreaming and I hope you're dreaming BIG!

  8. Pursuing a dream takes tenacity. For a long time, I was afraid to dream because the disappointment of not attaining my dreams was too much to bear. As I work through those fears, my goals are becoming clearer and more attainable. Inch by inch. One of my dreams from childhood is to write a book, from college is to record a music CD. One can dream right? GREAT post!!

  9. Oh, my dream is to finish my eBook this year and to start my own business so I can work from home and quite possibly be a stay-at-home mom. Yes, sometimes dreams stay dreams, but they make life interesting and fun...and sometimes, they do become real :)

  10. My dream is to be a published author! I am in the midst of working on a novel, but my day job frequently gets in the way. I'll keep truckin!

  11. Hmm...my dreams...well, last night they involved lots of screaming fights with auditors. OK kidding, kidding. To be honest, my main dream/wish/hope is just for happiness for my family and friends. What better thing could I dream of? Maybe the lottle but that would be greedy :) Thanks for stopping by today :)
