My Child Speaks....Starbucks

Over the past 5 months KLV has been saying, “tattie wattae”. She speaks very well for her age so this phrase had us thoroughly confused. It sounded like an African phrase. What did it mean?

It was not until my trusty mother in law came for a visit that she decoded the “tattie wattae” mystery. She said, “I think she’s saying, Chai Tea Latte.” You know what folks, she was right.

My child speaks Starbucks.

For the record, KLV doesn’t drink Starbucks but listens intently as we do the weekly drive through run.

A few weeks later, KLV said, “Grande Tattie Wattae Mommy?”

So now my child speaks proficient Starbucks.

Out of the mouths of babes…

  1. That is so funny! I love it when you are desperately trying to figure out what a child is saying...only to find out they are saying something that makes you blush and wonder what else they are hearing each day!

    Cheers!

  29. I love this! I also order the chai tea latte, but my girls just call it coffee. Now if we even head in that direction, they ask, "Coffee momma?" Must be more of a habit than I thought!!
