A Day 4 Moms

Happy Mother's Day to you!  I'm assuming this is a Hallmark holiday and what a good one.

My own Mom lost her Mom this past year.  My Mom said that once she realized the matriarch was gone and she felt alone.  What a real and honest statement.  I also get a lump in my throat just thinking about it.

I guess it doesn't matter what your age when our Mom is gone part of our foundation is gone too.

To all of you who've lost your Mom, my heart goes out to you.  For all of us who still have our Mom's with us, I hope you are doing something special to show them how much they mean to you.

Happy Mother's Day Mom!

  1. Happy Mother's Day my dear friend! This post is so heartfelt and true. I feel for your mom and for your family. Sometimes the holidays can remind us of the great losses in our lives. A mother truly is the greatest foundation in our lives. Beautiful picture. Enjoy your day TV. You are an amazing mommy!

  4. We relaxed and planted a bunch of bulbs and flowers. Ate leftovers from yesterday's BBQ party (remind me to get more childless friends - 9 kids under 5 running around = phew). It was lovely. I dread ever losing my mom or even my mom's mom. I'm blessed to have both around. Happy Mother's Day, TV!!

  8. oh you and your mother are so beautiful, what a great picture :)

Oh so true about a Mother's Love. My mom lost her mother a year ago and you are so right, I know she hurts, no matter the age. My grandma was the glue that held us all together, nothing seems quite the same without her. As we went to see her at the cemetery today, I felt my mother's hurt as I hurt and missed her. Nothing quite like that kind of love, huh? beautiful post and Happy Mother's Day to you!

  9. What a great pic! I love it! In fact I love ALL of your pics! They are so clear and precise. It makes me feel like I just crawled into your fun looking life! :)

Mother's day was spent at Shoney's breakfast (YUMMO!) and then a day filled with games. I love it! I posted about it on my blog complete with pictures.

  10. My mother lives a few states away, but we are all flying out to see her (and my brother graduate) this weekend! I can't wait to give her a big hug and tell her how much I love her.
I hope your day was special.

  11. Well, I see where you and your daughter get your beauty!!! : ) I love and appreciate my mom so much! I don't ever want to lose her, but I know that when I do she has equipped me with the skills to be strong and keep going. Thanks for sharing your mom's sentiment about her mother with us. I'm sorry for your loss.

  12. Happy Late Mother's Day my friend! Y'all are blessed with fantastic genes...your momma is a knock out! Anyway - what you wrote is so true. Time is so precious and I think most of us have even more appreication for our mothers once we became mothers ourselves.
