Time & Energy

Many of us spend a lot of energy reacting to the negative! No wonder, negativity is everywhere!!

But what about those people who do good stuff for you?  Do you give them the same amount of energy as the negative peeps get?

Out of full disclosure I tend to give the negative nellies more time and energy than the good guys.  Ugh! Do you do this?

Perhaps our need to be right and powerful is the very reason we focus on those that make us feel bad.

Just think if we spent more time with people that made us feel great.

  2. I try to surround myself with "glass half full" type of people and if they are being negative, I try to fill their glass for them! Happy Tuesday!

  3. I think I would like to spend just a little more time making other people feel great...I think there's a lot of joy to be found in passing around a bit of cheer.

  5. OMG! I'm sitting here dwelling on a negative person and something they recently said as I write this. It's the one thing I hate about myself; too often, I let people steal my joy! Life is too short for this mess!

  6. I always say something similar - focus on the positive and that's what you will bring into your life. It takes time though to block out the people who bug you but in the end completely worth it!

  7. That's why as I've gotten older I've started to cut those types of people out of my life...it's hard but times change. I look back at the good time, but know it will never be the same so it is time to move on to spend time with people who aren't negative.

  8. I used to spend way too much time on those negative people. Now, I am cutting people out of my life (crazy, right?). But in order to excel and be happy, you must surround yourself with those that do the same. It's really hard, but hopefully I'll be generally happier... Great post, as always :)

  9. I think we all tend to spend a bit too much time on the negative at times. I think that there is a lot of negative in the world, however there is so much positive! It is a way of training our minds to stay focused on the good. I hope you had a great weekend my friend! Have a good night!

  10. Yes, I need to get the negative people out of my life. (I'm especially surrounded by them at work.) My feeling lately is that life is way too short. I absolutely want to be there for my friends if they're having bad days, but I definitely don't want to be surrounded by continuous drama.

P.S. I know this is unrelated, but I love the picture of your little ballerina. She's so adorable!

  11. Insightful post! Especially where you said, "Perhaps our need to be right and powerful is the very reason we focus on those that make us feel bad." Negativity is everywhere and affects everybody but I think we can train our brains to counteract regular negativity.

  12. Hello TV's Take -

BTW, I really love your music here. Acoustic guitars drive me in a great way so thank you for this beautiful music. ^5!

You know, in a way...you giving more of your energy towards negative people is Christian-like. These individuals need your assistance much more than the positive people do. SO, in essence you are helping people more by placing your positive energy in the faces of the negative ones. That's all a very good thing so kudos for you on doing so. :)

  13. I do think that a path to peach and kindness involves caring much less about what negative people are doing.

  14. I seemed to remember that more often when I was teaching, but still do try to give back to those who definitely deserve it! =)
