From Peace to Unrest

We are toying with the idea of buying a new home.  We enjoy our home but for multiple reasons it may be best to move.  Therefore, this week has been filled with discussions about what we need vs. want.

More interestingly because of our decision to move we went from a perfectly peaceful home setting to unrest.

It’s incredible how a simple shift in mindset can send us into a tailspin.

Amazing how our mindsets control our lives.

Is your mindset helping you or hurting you?

  3. Such a profound truth! I am reminded of a friend who was about to divorce her husband. She was completely fed up with him and her mindset was that she was done. Her sister challenged her to stick it out, get counseling and to stay married. A year later they are going strong. I'm sure a lot of things happened but, I know a biggie was a mindset shift.

Good luck sorting out the move situation!

  4. We've been wanting to get a bigger house too...and it does cause stress b/c all the home improvements we've done would have to be done again b/c even though these houses are bigger they have the same updating needs! Which means paying for a bigger mortgage and fixing it up. Ugh wish it was easier!

  5. Usually our unrest is harmful to my psyche/immune system. I've been trying harder toward using it as a tool to motivate and inspire instead of letting it wear me down. Good luck in your decision. We moved 2 years ago to a bigger house (which we all love) but sometimes we discuss going to back to smaller and simpler. Hang in there and just know that it doesn't matter where you hang your hat the memories will guide and follow your next adventures as a family! : ) Hope you are all well aside from "ugh!" decisions! : )

  10. Ah, Mindset makes all the difference, doesn't it? In the past year, we moved twice...totally stressful and unsettling, but exciting and thrilling at the same time. I think we are in in our "forever" house now. We are still settling in, but it's been the best choice ever! You'll keep the perspective, TV....you are so gifted in that area!

I hope all is well with you, my friend!

  11. It IS amazing how our mindsets control our lives. Great question you ask! My mindset does both - help and hurt depending on what truth I let into my mind. For example I was going along positive for a few days, then yesterday battled with thoughts of failure. Had to remember, we're all doing the best we can.

Sending you much love as you communicate your needs/wants and make decisions on buying a new home.

  12. Oh, good luck on your potential move! I think my mindset is helping me, but sometimes I think I create too many goals for myself...I need to find a balance. It's good to have goals, but it's not good to let them become an obsession where they impact your happiness...
