Thinking Off The Tops Of Our Heads

Recently facebook interviewed Oprah about her life today and thoughts about our inner selves.  Oprah also talked about how she requires her teams to meditate.  Her reasoning, many of us think off the tops of our heads and we don’t really hear our true selves.

How true.  So many of us focus on surface stuff and don’t take the times to really listen to our selves.

How do you get beyond the noise and really hear yourself?

  1. I think that people have so much stress in their lives and have so many things to do that it can be hard to really think from inside. We are all on the go so much. It is so important that we all take the time to think and meditate from time to time. It helps us to put things into perspective. Have a great day!

  2. This one is certainly a tough one. I don't think I have an answer right now. I'll have to start paying more attention to what I think and say off the top of my head and get back to you on this one. It's a great way to self reflect though!

  3. I really need to meditate. I have tried before to commit to just a few minutes a day to mindfully do this, but alas, I do it a couple days and stop. I believe in its benefits. Must keep trying!

  4. I think we've all become TOO busy, too focused on life flying by each day and it's so hard to soak it all in and really "be". Amazing post...really got me thinkin' :)

  5. Great question TV, as always. I've learned to unplug some things temporarily so I could come to a place of stillness. I need that stillness to really hear myself, my thoughts, and recognize what I should let myself believe and what I should not. Hope that makes sense. I've missed stopping by and visiting you. Hope you have a "getting beyond the noise day" my friend :)

  6. Sadly, it often takes a tragedy to really slow down and think about what is truly important. Yoga and meditation are great for staying in touch and present. It's just a matter of fitting it in, especially when you have little ones.

  7. This is something that I really need to do! I just can't seem to find that quiet place in my house let alone in my head.
