That ‘I’m Gaining Weight’ Feeling

Oh Boy! You know that feeling when your jeans just start to feel tight and your stomach isn’t as flat as it was 1 short week ago?

Yeah that just happened to me.

Not Actually Me
This post isn’t about why or how this happens but the sinking feeling when that realization hits you; “OMG I’m Gaining Weight!”  It’s scary, frustrating, worrisome, maddening, confusing and harried.

I like to think it was the recent wash but between us, I know better.  I also know that if my diet/exercise doesn’t get back in gear ASAP that those newly tight jeans won’t fit much longer – at all.

I’m happy to report I think my jeans are starting to fit normal again but phew that was close J

What’s your reaction when that happens?

On an even more positive note, what’s your reaction when those same jeans get baggy as a result of a good diet?

  1. Just adjust! Eat less, move more. Too skinny? Eat more! That's the easy part!

  2. I have learned that I tend to fluctuate around 10 pounds all the time. I go up and down and all around depending on my time of the month etc. lol. I used to get really frustrated because pants would fit or not fit depending on the week but, I guess it just is what it is for me. lol. I love when the skinny pants fit great though. That is a wonderful feeling of success! lol

  3. Yes I know what you mean! It's crazy how sometimes being bloated or just fluctuating cna make you feel so fat! But yes when you are putting on jeans that didn't fit but do now that's always an awesome feeling!

  5. Hahaha I know that feeling all too well! Which is why I'm "detoxing" this month, even though M thinks that it can't technically be a real detox. Oh well! At least I'm cutting the crap from my diet to prevent the super weight gain.

  6. Yeah, my first thoughts are, here we go again!
We did a detox at the beginning of the year, and I just need to be better self-disciplined now!

  7. I'm having the my clothes don't fit because they are too big problem. It's an okay problem to have, but everything looks silly on me...my pants bag and bunch and I just feel swamped and frumpy. With summer just around the corner I'm going to need half a new wardrobe!

  8. I bought 4 new pairs of jeans, 2 blue, 2 black. I then gained a bit of weight. The blue still fit, the black do not. I hate it. I'm working on getting back into those black ones :)

  9. I hate that feeling of my jeans being too tight! It makes me cringe. However, after I get my butt moving, and those same jeans start to give, I'm thrilled and proud of myself.

  10. I know. It is a sinking feeling. I am usually able to get back on track, but it always scares me!

  11. I hate that feeling, and yup, I've been feeling it, especially this month. It usually motivates me to start exercising, but with a three year-old that doesn't want to pushed around in a stroller anymore, my exercise time is limited...even my home exercise video time is limited if I have to worry about getting both him and me ready for preschool and work in the morning. I have to remind myself to drink more water and less of my smoothie type drinks... :)

  12. Feeling the jeans loose is an awesome feeling of course. As for them getting snug and noticing a rounder belly...well, that sucks...completely. It makes me panic, even when it's that week prior to that time of the month when we should really know better than panic cos it COULD be water weight. Suffice it to say, I often have these feelings you wrote about and it just sucks *sigh*
